In the thriving landscape of Electric Vehicles (EVs), the competition for market dominance is fiercer than ever. Lotus, a storied British marque renowned for its legacy in sports car engineering, has strategically entered this arena with a bold vision to broaden its appeal. Following the successful launch of the Lotus Eletre, the brand has swiftly introduced the Lotus Emeya EV, an all-electric four-door Hyper-GT designed to redefine expectations.
This vehicle represents a radical departure from Lotus’s traditional design philosophy. As Ben Payne, VP of Design at Lotus Group, himself admitted, “This is a Lotus you’ve never seen before.” Yet, despite its avant-garde exterior, the Emeya shares significant underlying hardware with the Eletre, positioning it as a formidable competitor to established luxury electric sedans like the Tesla Model S and the Porsche Taycan.
The Power and Performance of the Lotus Emeya
At the heart of the Lotus Emeya lies a potent powertrain that delivers exhilarating performance. The vehicle boasts an impressive 905 horsepower and 727 lb-ft of torque, distributed to all four wheels through a dual-motor system—identical to the top-tier Eletre R. This configuration allows the Emeya to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.8 seconds. While slightly behind the Porsche Taycan Turbo S by 0.4 seconds, the Emeya still offers a breath-taking driving experience.
Powering this performance is a 102 kWh battery. For the Thai market, the Lotus Emeya MY26 offers a maximum driving range of 434 to 498 kilometers on a single charge, depending on the variant.
Lotus has implemented an advanced 800V electrical architecture in the Emeya, which significantly reduces charging times. When connected to a 350kW DC fast charger, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes. Notably, a mere 5-minute charge provides an additional driving range of up to 149.6 kilometers.
Design and Technology
The Lotus Emeya showcases a striking design that embraces bold, muscular lines, completely abandoning the reserved, classic British aesthetic. This radical departure from tradition enhances the car’s aerodynamic efficiency. Key features include an active front grille that opens to cool the battery and brakes, advanced electronic semi-active air suspension, and 22-inch wheels. For the first time in the Emeya’s history—and only the second time for Lotus after the Eletre—the vehicle incorporates an electrically assisted rack-and-pinion steering system that mounts directly to the chassis, providing a more direct and communicative driving feel.
Inside, the Emeya shares a luxurious, high-quality material palette with the Eletre. Notably, Lotus has introduced sustainable materials, including upcycled cotton textile waste from the fashion industry. This innovative material is lighter than traditional leather and generates significantly lower carbon emissions during production.
The cabin is dominated by a large central touchscreen with a comprehensive interface shared between the driver and front passenger. The sound system is provided by KEF, featuring 15 speakers with Dolby Atmos and built-in noise cancellation technology. Both occupants benefit from ultra-thin OLED displays, and the driver experiences Augmented Reality (AR) heads-up display (HUD) that projects real-time information, navigation, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) alerts—including turn signals, collision warnings, lane departure alerts, and blind-spot monitoring.
Updated Market Information: MY26 Pricing in Thailand
In 2025, Lotus Car (Thailand), the official importer and distributor, responded to the dynamic Thai market by redefining its brand positioning as “Lotus for Everyone – Experience the Lotus Dream Today.” This strategy aims to expand the customer base significantly. The company launched the Lotus Emeya 600 in Thailand at a highly competitive starting price of 4,890,000 THB.
This pricing adjustment not only makes the Lotus Emeya more accessible but also aligns the cost of features with the current Thai market landscape. Lotus Car has meticulously calibrated pricing for options and packages to ensure customers can own an electric performance vehicle that commands attention and reflects their unique identity. However, Lotus Car remains firmly committed to its DNA of “For The Driver,” ensuring that every customer experiences the exciting and superior driving dynamics that define the Lotus brand.
To commemorate this launch, Lotus Car has introduced 10 model variants across the Emeya and Eletre lineup, catering to diverse preferences and lifestyles while maintaining the core identity of a fun-to-drive sports car with cutting-edge technology and class-leading performance.
To simplify brand recognition, all Lotus MY26 models are categorized into two series based on motor power: the 600 SERIES (603 hp) and the 900 SERIES (905 hp). In Thailand, both the Emeya and Eletre offer five variants each, specifically: 600, 600 GT SE, 600 Sport SE, 900 Sport, and 900 Sport Carbon.
